Platypus
&
Waterfalls
Leaving Airlie Beach at 8 am, we first journey to Finch Hatton Gorge, a breathtaking landscape filled with waterfalls, lush flora, and unique volcanic boulder formations. We have morning tea along the way at Cattle Creek, tea, coffee lamingtons and biscuits are served right on the banks of the creek before we head up into the lush rainforest of Finch Hatton Gorge. This must-see attraction offers various walking tracks that wind through sub-tropical rainforests up to two small waterfalls cascading into crystal-clear swimming holes.
After exploring, we'll enjoy a delicious Aussie BBQ lunch before heading to Eungella National Park, located in the Clark Ranges at the head of the Pioneer Valley. Here, you can spot the elusive platypus in its natural habitat, as this park is one of the few places where you can see this shy creature in their natural habitat. Can we guarantee you will see one, no. But our experienced guides know where they like to hide and have a 97% success rate in spotting them. This is your best chance of seeing them in the wild and undisturbed.
