Departing from Airlie Beach at 8 am, embark on a scenic adventure to Finch Hatton Gorge, where you’ll explore breathtaking waterfalls, lush rainforests, and remarkable volcanic boulder formations. During the journey, we stop at Cattle Creek for a relaxing morning tea by the creek, complete with tea, coffee, lamingtons, and biscuits. From there, we head deeper into the rainforest of Finch Hatton Gorge, where walking trails lead to two stunning waterfalls and crystal-clear swimming holes perfect for a dip.

After a refreshing exploration, enjoy a mouthwatering Aussie BBQ lunch, paired with your choice of beer or wine. Then, we continue our adventure to Eungella National Park, located in the Clark Ranges at the head of the Pioneer Valley. Eungella is renowned as one of the best places to spot the elusive platypus in its natural habitat. While sightings are not guaranteed, our expert guides know exactly where to look, boasting a 97% success rate in spotting these rare creatures in the wild.

At Broken River, we give you the best opportunity to witness a platypus in action, with plenty of chances to see this shy, fascinating creature in its natural environment.
